Education
74% of public schools had trouble filling teaching positions before the 2024-25 school year. 1 in 8 positions will go unfilled.
Schools in marginalized and underrepresented communities are even more likely to be understaffed.

Social Work
The need for social workers is substantial due to growing social issues like poverty, mental health concerns, and an aging population, amplified by the recent COVID-19 pandemic. Approximately 67,300 social worker openings are expected annually through at least 2033.

Psychological Sciences
1 in 5 U.S. adults and 1 in 6 youth experience mental illness each year. Yet, the average delay between onset of mental illness symptoms and treatment is 11 years. The United States is experiencing a severe shortage of mental health professionals - more than half of the population lives in a mental health professional shortage area.
