The Doug J Law Textbook Award is a long-standing award within the Division of Biological and Biomedical Systems which honors a beloved former teaching professor, Dr. Doug Law. This award is made every year to several Biology students experiencing high financial need and specifically provides them with funds to purchase much-needed textbooks, website subscriptions, or other educational tools required for their classes.
Without this award, many students would go without important resources to help them excel in their classes and reach their goals. Sadly, the endowment of this award was never sufficient for it to be self-sustaining, and the funds supporting the award are now nearly depleted; without further donation, the award will have to be discontinued in a couple of years (depending on the number of awards made each year).
We are seeking donors to help us replenish the funding supporting this award so we can continue to provide important resources for students who may not otherwise be able to access them. Any donation, no matter how small, helps a student get the support they need for a class and to pursue their scientific dreams.
