Gifts to Design Build Fly: Aeroos contribute to...
UMKC’s Design Build Fly (DBF) team, Aeroos, applies core engineering principles to design, build, and test a custom aircraft each year in preparation for the annual AIAA DBF competition. Every competition cycle introduces a new set of design and manufacturing challenges, pushing our students to innovate and adapt.
The team’s mission is to build a remote-controlled aircraft that meets the AIAA’s specific design criteria and to compete against top engineering programs from around the world in a series of rigorous flight events. Through this hands-on project, students gain practical experience in areas such as 3D modeling, aerodynamics, fabrication, and systems integration.
We are currently seeking donations to help us build our next aircraft for competition. Your support will directly contribute to materials, testing, and travel costs, empowering the next generation through real-world experience.
DBF Highlights
🚀 Within the past 2 years, the Aeroos have surged through the competition scoring higher than top engineering universities.
🌟 Despite starting with just a team of 2 in 2024, Aeroos were invited to competition in Tucson, Arizona after a stunning design proposal.
