UMKC School of Law was founded in 1895 and provides an affordable legal education that extends beyond campus into the heart of Kansas City, providing students with rich hands-on learning experiences, bar preparation and direct access to a thriving legal community. The School of Law is one of only six American law schools to have produced both a President of the United States โ Harry Truman โ and a Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court โ Charles Whittaker. In 2025, UMKC Law School was recognized as a Top 100 Law School by The U.S. News & World Report and boasts a 96.8% employment rate for the class of 2024 at the ABA reporting period.
Gifts made to support Giving Day causes for the School of Law will be processed by the UMKC Foundation for the benefit of the UMKC Law Foundation which distributes funds raised for student bar preparation, scholarships, the Launch to the Profession Fund, and areas of greatest need to the UMKC School of Law.
