Classical KC

91.9 Classical KC is the sister station of KCUR 89.3, a service of UMKC since 1957. Classical KC was launched in 2020 at the height of the pandemic when people needed music more than ever. Despite federal defunding of public media in 2025, our mission is to provide 24/7 classical music and local content to listeners and digital users, as well as help build audiences of other classical music organizations in Kansas City. The station collaborates on a local broadcast with the UMKC Conservatory. There is no cost or paywall for any of Classical KC's music or local content. It's your gift at any amount that makes it free and accessible to all.
